UW AI4ALL

The Taskar Center for Accessible Technology at the University of Washington runs UW AI4ALL, a program about data science and artificial intelligence.

What participants study

The 2026 program is in session from August 4 to early October 2026.

The University of Washington’s, Taskar Center for Accessible Technology invites students to join us for a free, multi-week data science introductory workshop. To be eligible for the program, students must be rising high school juniors, high school seniors, or college freshmen. At the workshop, students will learn how to understand, analyze, interpret and discuss real-world applications of data science and machine learning with the ultimate goal of understanding impactful technology decisions.

We focus our anti-bias in DS teachings on non-ableist DS, bringing a disability studies lens to interrogate bias and fairness in Data Science practices.

UW AI4ALL has served rising high school juniors, high school seniors, and students starting their first year of college. Participants study data science, machine learning, and questions about bias and fairness. The curriculum uses a disability studies lens to examine data science in urban spaces.

The eight lessons cover AI agents, sensors, data, machine learning, and the process of planning and building an AI invention. The lessons begin at an introductory level and do not assume previous coding experience.
